The Director General of the National Communications Authority, Dr. Joe Anokye has been adjudged Exemplary Leadership (Technology Sector) of the Year at the recently hosted 2024 Ghana Business and Innovations Awards, which took place at the plush Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.
The awards scheme is designed to reward individuals and companies that play a significant role in the growth and development of their business sector while recognizing the key functions within the sector that promote growth, sustainability, and diversity.
Organized by Millennium Communications, a subsidiary of the KN Communications Group, the annual event recognizes and rewards the achievements of businesses from different sectors and across Ghana.
The nominees were evaluated by the Awards’ research board, which comprises prominent and well-learned figures selected from the worlds of business, innovation, advertising and marketing, as well as an independent survey under the following selection criteria: Quality, Innovation, Market Dominance, Resilience, Customer Loyalty, Corporate Responsibility and Overall Market Acceptance.

Dr. Joe Anokye was appointed the Director General of the National Communications Authority on 24th January 2017. He is a Technology Executive well-versed in a wide range of Telecommunication Operations Management, Telecommunication Networks, National Security, and Cyber Security platforms in both public and private sectors. As a talented and accomplished Technology Executive, he has over twenty-nine (29) years of hands-on technical and management experience with a proven ability to successfully direct and manage major and key information technology, telecommunications, and technology support services operations from inception to completion.
Dr. Anokye holds BSC Geodetic Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi and Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from University of Maryland University College, College Park, MD USA. He was awarded a Certificate for Senior Executives in National and International Security by Harvard Kennedy School, Executive Education, USA.
